James at JMW Carpentry replaced some old boiler house doors for new ones for us and did a terrific job. He answered all our queries quickly, kept us informed all the way and worked to a very tight schedule. Very professional, would highly recommend.

JMW recently completed our two storey side extension. We are so happy that we had James & co to take on our project. We already had planning permission for our extension but due to Brexit/covid delays, it meant we could no longer afford to have the full work done. James was very proactive & called me to discuss our priorities and suggested various ways to amend our project but without feeling we were losing out. They were able to start quickly & were friendly and professional throughout. James’ whole team were hard working, dedicated and took pride in their work. James & his team took the stress out of the project and we were able to let him manage it which was perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for.

All of James’ team were so lovely and it made us feel comfortable having them at our house which was great because we were also working from home. James has a great list of contacts too so this is also very useful for a variety of jobs. We are really pleased with the end result-it has added so much to our home/way of living and was finished to a high standard. We would highly recommend JMW to complete an extension or general carpentry.

JMW recently completed a unique contemporary low carbon single storey extension for our home.  The extension was constructed with Structural Insulated Panels with a timber clad exterior.  Inside it was plaster boarded throughout and an engineered oak floor fitted over a screed base.  A new staircase was designed and fitted including under-stairs wine storage.  There were also numerous adjustments to the existing house including major steelwork, demolition and doorway alterations to accommodate the extension.

James was enthusiastic about our project from the start and we had a shared vision on how it should be realised.  He coordinated a network of good quality sub-contractors and assigned a significant proportion of his own team to our project.  All of his team were polite, friendly and a pleasure to have working in our house.  It is great to see him supporting the education of a number of apprentices under the guidance of his highly skilled leads.

James project managed the build and dealt well with the inevitable issues that come up along the way and was happy to let us directly manage some parts of the project where we had specific specialists being brought in.

We are really happy with the end result and it has transformed our home.

We are delighted with the outcome of our project. It has transformed the way we use the house - especially in the kitchen. It has made the whole house much more family oriented. The kids are also delighted with their new bedrooms and ensuite!

One of the key things that has been great working with JMW has been the people that have been completing the work. James' team did a beautiful job building our new fireplace. Tidy, punctual, efficient and we will use them again

JWM constructed a bespoke double carport and shed, which was received flat packed. They arrived and just got on with it, and have done a great job.

We also asked if they could fix existing double doors, and make them bifold, and we weren’t sure if it was even possible. Luckily for us, it was. Again, JWM just got on with the job, and another job we’re really pleased with.

I wouldn’t hesitate to either use them again, or recommend them to others. A very professional group of guys

James and his team were able to accommodate and install the specific design specifications I had for a home office, including some last minute changes for electrics and cabling. The JMW team were great from start to finish.  We really appreciated the professional and friendly approach of all the staff, they respected me and my husband equally, and the were great to our kids.

They remodelled our old terrace, from lowering the floors, rebuilding our kitchen, creating a new utility and garden room. They gave us extra space upstairs by adding two dormer windows and building clever storage solutions.

The project had lots of challenges along the way as you can expect with an old property but James worked with us every step of the way to finish and make our dreams happen

JMW Carpentry laid a new wooden floor for us through our living room and hall.

This was the latest phase of a rolling renovation/upgrade of our home that we started last summer and the best service to date. We have had issues with some of the contractors we retained but not so with James, his brother and team. The work was done very professionally, to the highest standard and for less than the quoted estimated price.

Furthermore, they gave us good advice on different options and ensured the whole process was seamless. Highly recommended

Mr Woodhams and his team came over to quote for the work we were looking for. A conversion of the garage to an annex, as well as the extension to the back of the house and redefining the space to an open plan kitchen dinner with downstairs shower room and utility space.

James gave us his quote as well as his starting date, along with the plan for the time frame of all aspects of the build. I will be honest, JMW were a little more expensive than a previous quote, but I had no hesitation in booking them for the work. Small things made it all worth while, firstly, the team were reliable, professional and hard working. Neat and tidy, every day making sure they left the space as best as possible so we weren't left in chaos.

Communication was very good, being able to get answers to the questions you don't know you're going to ask until you ask them. James project manages the whole process, organising the other trades to come in so that work runs as smooth as possible. Towards the end of the project there were a couple of snags, which I gather happens to most projects, and the team of JMW fixed everything.

I now have a wonderful space that I can entertain in, have all the family around, and feel it will grow with us into old age. I can highly recommend JMW for building work, whether it's an extension or conversion, they will do an amazing job.

Just had a full house renovation and a knock through to create an open plan downstairs by James and his team. We had been let down by a few other companies and were also told that some of the work couldn't be done, but not by JMW. They were honest and very professional from the word go. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They even came up with some fantastic ideas that we hadn't thought of. Our home feels like a new house!!

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again

James heard my plans to get my house onto the market as soon as possible, and that I needed to have my kitchen floor replaced before we do so. He made some calls and sent his brother Luke over to view the job the same day. Then not long after this, he contacted me to say he could reorganise some things and fit this job in tomorrow. This was a big surprise to me, as I had been looking at at least a 3 month lead time for all the other companies I contacted about the work. Luke and Archie arrived early the next day, for what should have been a 2 day job. By 5pm, only a small amount of finishing remained (30 mins the next day) and my kitchen had been transformed. I would not hesitate to recommend this company, and will make them my first call next time I need some work

Can’t recommend these guys enough! Quick to start, professional and we had to keep changing our minds due to constraints, and they stepped up to the mark. Made bespoke doors and wine racks for us. Moved bathroom and laid new wooden flooring. Would highly recommend and will be using on all future jobs we have planned including bathrooms and oak frame building- of which they have their own design we can add our designs to.

James and his team have recently completed a job at our property. This included the installation of an oak staircase and the complete gutting and replastering of a dormer bedroom that had suffered a serious  roof leak. We cannot praise the standard of workmanship highly enough. James and his team were punctual, hardworking, conscientious and courteous.
